Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion Our Mission: Uphold our commitment to compassionate care by fostering positive relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Patient Care: Consult, diagnose, and treat patients eligible for hospice and palliative care in diverse settings, including homes, extended care facilities, and hospitals.
  • Documentation: Complete essential documentation for service billing and compliance.
  • Resource for Staff: Provide guidance on symptom management and hospice practices to medical teams and hospice staff.
  • Education: Develop and deliver educational programs for community physicians and agency staff on key hospice and palliative care topics.
  • Policy Development: Assist in formulating medical policies and procedures that uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Offer medical direction during interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Safety First: Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols established by the agency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid and current medical license in the State of Ohio.
  • Certifications: Maintain all necessary certifications, active licenses, and DEA registrations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to hospice and palliative care.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Tech-Savvy: Strong proficiency in computer skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional organizational and interpersonal abilities.
